The arrival of Judge White and his wife Mary Carr's first child was a much-anticipated event amongst his family back in Jackson, Tennessee. Before the birth, Judge White had let his father Albert Cornelious (AC) White know if the child was a boy, he planned to name him Albert.

AC was often affectionately called "Ab" by his friends in the town of Jackson. When the momentous day arrived and it was indeed a boy, Judge White dutifully sent a telegram to his father and family. But he could not resist the temptation to have a bit of fun.

The telegram read simply, "Ab normal."
